NBA Star Gets Cold Feet

Richard Jefferson leaves fiance one day before the wedding.

Former New Jersey Nets player Richard Jefferson was supposed to marry Kesha Ni'Cole Nichols last Saturday but his poor fiance never got to put on the dress.

According to New York Daily News, Jefferson left Nichols on the night before the wedding, waiting until two hours before the event was to take place to inform his guests. The ceremony that never was cost them $2 million.

A friend of Nichols said that the jilted bride was "not entirely caught off-guard" by Jefferson's sudden departure. She called her guests as soon as the wedding was called off but a source told Radar Online that she still had her family fly out to comfort her. The family "met at the hotel, as if it were a funeral."

On the bright side, Nichols' hotel room was upgraded to a suite.

Jefferson's friends and family didn't have a bad time either, reports USA Today. The star athlete gave his credit card to a friend to ensure that his guests had everything they needed for the night.
