Viewers of the Viacom-owned cable network BET will see more original programming in the network's near future. Upcoming shows include a hip-hop version of "The Apprentice" with Damon Dash in the mogul role, a companion to the networks most popular show "106th and Park," and a late-night talk show. With this infusion of new shows, the network is considering cancellation of "BET Nightly News," its 11 pm newscast.
Stephen Hill, newly promoted executive vice president of entertainment and music programming, and Robyn Lattaker-Johnson, vice president of programming development, are overseeing the program changes for the 25 year old network.
