Paula Abdul 'Hurt and Angry'
Paula Abdul may not be returning to the ninth season of "American Idol."
David Sonenberg, manager of the "American Idol" judge since late June, tells the Los Angeles Times Abdul is not happy, as there has been no negotiation to renew her contract with FremantleMedia and 19 Entertainment, the production companies behind the show.
Following news of "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest signing his new three-year contract worth a whopping $45 million, Sonenberg told the paper Abdul felt hurt and angry. He defends her by adding, "I find it kind of unconscionable and certainly rude and disrespectful that they haven't stepped up and said what they want to do."
As for the other three judges of "American Idol," Simon Cowell is said to be in negotiations to renew his contract, which ends next year. Randy Jackson is set to stay till 2011, according to his contract, and new judge Kara DioGuardi has shared interest in returning.
While it is not official that Paula Abdul will not be returning, the contrary is less than likely as auditions for next season start August 6.
Paula thanked fans on Twitter for supporting her, according to the New York Daily News, expressing that without them it would be far more difficult.
Season 9 of "American Idol" airs in January.
