'Burn Notice' Star Arrested, Suspected of DUI

Jeffrey Donovan arrested for suspicion of drunk driving.

Jeffrey Donovan, star of the hit USA Network series "Burn Notice," was arrested on July 12 of suspicion of driving drunk, the Associated Press reports.

In the arrest report, it states that Donovan was noticed by the arresting officer after the actor swerved his car to avoid hitting the officer from behind. It is noted in the report that the actor's eyes appeared to be bloodshot and watery.

When questioned by the officer, Donovan mumbled excuses, saying "Sorry, I didn't see the red light or your stopped car." TMZ reports he is to have smelled of alcohol. When the officer asked Donovan if he had anything to drink that night, Donovan replied "he had consumed three drinks at the Fontainebleau hotel" TMZ also reports.

Donovan reportedly refused to take a breathalyzer test, but was arrested anyway for failing a field sobriety test.

The 41-year-old actor's final words before being taken away were, "The only mistake I made tonight was drinking Benadryl with 3 glasses of wine. I really think I'm only borderline and not too drunk."

If convicted, he could face up to six months in jail on one count of DUI.
