You Know What Really "Grinds My Gears"?

There are just some things that just "grind my gears."

I decided to take a page from "Family Guy's" Peter Griffin because there are a lot of things that truly "grind my gears." I usually do not let things bother me but I observe things that are equivalent to nails on a chalkboard such as:

Men wearing cuffed pants: I do not have a problem with men wearing a pair of pants that are cuffed once or twice. I do have a problem when guys' pant legs are rolled to their knees. If the pants were supposed to be rolled up to your knees, then the designer would have designed them that way. Men who walk around with their pants cuffed to their knees look ridiculous and I do not know whether to laugh or feel sorry for them. First, men were wearing their pants without belts so are we now moving to pants cuffed at the ankles or at the knee? I would like to know what latest fashion trend that represents because guys walking around with their pants cuffed to their knees remind me of Huckleberry Finn.

Women wearing leggings as pants: I do not understand why women think that wearing leggings as pants is acceptable. Leggings are meant to be worn under a skirt or maybe even shorts, but wearing just a shirt and leggings is an incomplete outfit. What adds insult to injury is when women's underwear is showing while wearing the leggings. If the underwear is showing while wearing the leggings, then they should not be wearing them at all. It's quite simple ladies; just go put on a pair of pants. Again, I would like to know what fashion guru said that this is fashionable.

Wale and Drake Being the "New Jay-Z & Nas": It's been said that DC hip-hop artists Wale and Drake are supposed to replace hip-hop legends Jay-Z and Nas. I would like to know in what century would that happen? Rapper Drake is fresh on the scene but many have said that his fifteen minutes of fame are almost up. Many may not know who Wale is (unless you saw his video on MTV with Lady Gaga). I do not think he would even make the legendary status like that of Jay or Nas. Do not get me wrong, I support my DC artists but Wale reaching that legendary hip-hop status is highly unlikely. Lil' Wayne, Kanye West, or even Kid Cudi (if he stays long enough on the scene) has a better shot than Drake or Wale.

And that's what really grinds my gears.
