Katherine Jackson Will Not Contest Will
Katherine Jackson will not contest her son Michael Jackson's will, a lawyer for the Jackson family confirmed Monday, reported Access Hollywood.
"Despite false reports, neither Mrs. Jackson nor any of her lawyers has or will be contesting the will," Katherine Jackson's lawyer, Londell McMillan, said in a statement to NBC News. "Nor has she decided whether or not to raise any challenge to the appointment of the executors named in the will or whether to seek the appointment of an additional co-executor. Her top priority remains the care of her son's three children."
Katherine Jackson was named guardian to Jackson's three children, Prince Michael I, 12; Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, 11; and Prince Michael II, 7, in his 2002 will.
Katherine was granted temporary guardianship of the King of Pop's three children, however, no final decision has been made on the children's fate.
McMillian's statement goes on to say that he and his client will work with John Branca and John McCain, the executors of Jackson's estate, says E! Online.
"We remain in communication with the temporary administrators of her son's estate," McMillan's statement to NBC News said. "In order to preserve her legal options, an application was filed this past Friday with the court to confirm that any possible objections Mrs. Jackson might raise at a later time regarding the appointment of executors would not constitute a challenge to the will itself. It is only fair and she has such a right under the law."
