Marc Anthony Partial Owner of Miami Dolphins

The influential music artist now owns stake in the Florida-based NFL team.

Latino-inspired singer and actor Marc Anthony is taking a break from music to concentrate on sports! As of Tuesday, the Grammy Award winner is now also a partial owner of the NFL team, the Miami Dolphins.

According to People, Anthony met with real estate entrepreneur Stephen Ross, who, as of January, owns a 95 percent stake in the Dolphins franchise, to make a deal.

"I'm a huge sports fan. These opportunities don't come around too often. It's quite an honor and a privilege to be able to sit here today and say that I'm a part-owner of an NFL team," the 40-year-old told People.

Ross claims that he and Anthony share a common vision for the team.

"Marc's a pretty bright guy and he has a lot of interesting ideas. We're trying to do something different and he was thinking outside the box. I think when your minds start going and thinking of all the different possibilities, I thought it would be a great fit and fun to do something," Ross told People.

Anthony and his wife, Jennifer Lopez, are now house hunting in Miami to find a place suitable for their family. He is scheduled to sing the national anthem for ESPN's "Monday Night Football" in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month on October 12, reported the Associated Press.
