Jet Ready for Third-Album Comeback

The Australian rockers are ready to make a name for themselves again with the release of their third album.

Back in 2003, Australian rock band Jet became a worldwide sensation with their album, "Get Born," which sold three million copies and included the singles, "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" and "Cold Hard Bitch." But the same couldn't be said for their second album, "Shine On," which was released in 2006 and sold only 900,000 copies.

Chris Cester, drummer and singer of Jet, admits their success went downhill when troubles involving drugs, business, family and tragedy began to arise.

"You grow up reading those books about (troubled classic rock bands), and then all of a sudden you find yourself in that cliche. It's pretty surreal," he said in an interview with Reuters.

Now, after settling their differences and getting back on their feet, Chris and his fellow bandmates, Nic Cester (singer-guitarist), Cameron Muncey (guitarist) and Mark Wilson (bass guitarist), are ready to release their third album.

"We had a few moments where we yelled and screamed at each other, and a few tears and a few hugs," he told Reuters. "We got rid of the past, basically."

The next single, entitled "Shaka Rock," is scheduled to release August 25 on the album that Jet describes as being "a big-beat rock 'n' roll record." The band is ready to tour for at least 18 months.
