Jane's Addiction Cancels Tour
Drummer Stephen Perkins of Jane's Addiction has been hospitalized due to an infection in his elbow, reports MTV News. A spokesperson for the group says Perkins was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Hospital at their Infectious Disease Ward.
Perkins is expected to stay in the hospital a few more days while the medicine has time to treat his infection. He will continue to recuperate at home for a few weeks once he is able to be released.
The original group members have not had a world tour together in 17 years, and the Australian part of their tour was scheduled to begin on Saturday. Jane's Addiction members recently returned to the states from part of their tour in Europe, and Perkins discovered the infection upon his return.
The band plans to reschedule a tour in Australia as soon as they have the chance. The next part of the tour is scheduled to take place at the Lollapalooza festival in early August, and Perkins is expected to be ready to perform.
