Phish Is Back

Festival 8 breaks the band's five-year long silence.

After a five-year hiatus, Phish finally announced Festival 8, their eighth music festival. According to Entertainment Weekly, the event will take place this Oct. 20-Nov. 1 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif.

As Festival 8 will take place over Halloween, Phish will once again be doing one of its "musical costume" performances on Oct. 31, in which the band will put on costumes and cover an entire album by a different band.

The first time, they covered the Beatles' "The White Album." It is expected that Phish will not announce whom they will cover at Festival 8 until they are on stage, reports MTV.com.

This event will mark Phish's first musical costume performance since 1998, their first three-day festival, and the first time they have held a music fest on the West Coast. They plan to play eight sets over the course of three days.

Phish has also just finished recording their 12th album with producer Steve Lilywhite, reports LiveDaily.com. The album will include a 13-minute single.

Tickets for Festival 8 will go on sale July 27 at $199 plus service charges.
