'FlashForward' Is ABC's Most Anticipated New Show
ABC is adding a new high-concept show to the lineup this September, reports Entertainment Weekly. "FlashForward" is a science fiction series where everyone in the world blacks out for two minutes and 17 seconds and is able to see six months into their futures.
The show is based on a novel by Robert Sawyer. Fans will be glad to know that Sawyer approves of the pilot episode and is willing to write a script for the first season.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Dominic Monaghan of "Lost" and "Lord of the Rings" has been cast, as well as John Cho, Jack Davenport, Courtney B. Vance, Sonya Walger, Brian F. O'Byrne, Christine Woods, Zachary Knighton and Peyton List. The executive producers are S. Goyer, Brannon Braga, Marc Guggenheim and Jessika Borsiczky Goyer.
"FlashForward" will feature complicated webs of character arcs and back stories, writes the L.A. Times. Despite its similarities to the genre-breaking show, the producers have assured viewers that "FlashForward" is not the new "Lost," and that nothing ever will be.
Fans at this year's Comic-Con were shown half of the first episode, which they seemed to enjoy.
