Holmes Haters Enrage "So You Think You Can Dance" Judge
Katie Holmes's tribute to Judy Garland on the 100th episode of "So You Think You Can Dance," Thursday night, has drawn mixed reviews. Her obvious lip-syncing and bare minimum dancing has evoked criticism from many wondering what on earth inspired Holmes to subject herself to such embarrassment.
The answer, in part, is that the performance was intended to raise awareness for the newly-founded charity, the Dizzy Feet Foundation, that provides scholarships for underprivileged children interested in the arts. Holmes was one of the co-founders of the organization, along with "Dance" judge and producer Nigel Lythgoe, director and sometimes-judge Adam Shankman and "Dancing with the Stars" judge Carrie Ann Inaba, according to the Dizzy Feet Foundation Web site. Holmes' "fee" for the performance of "Get Happy" was also donated to the Foundation.
Lythgoe, who has been hyping up the anticipated performance for weeks, did not take kindly to the negative reviews. RealityBlurred.com reports that Lythgoe took to his Twitter page to bash the Holmes haters. The Brit threatened to ban any of his Tweet followers who criticized the performance and told the bashers: "You make me sick."
