Batman 3 in 2011?
Gary Oldman came to Comic-Con to promote his new film, "The Book of Eli," but spilled a secret about the next "Batman" film.
Reuters reports that the actor who played Commissioner Gordon in Christopher Nolan's "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight" told fans at a Warner Brothers panel that the next "Batman" flick could be just around the corner.
"We start filming the next 'Batman' next year, which means it won't come out for another two years," he said. "But you didn't hear that from me," he added with a laugh.
Director Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale have previously expressed doubt about the franchise's future. If Nolan returned to direct a third installment, production would have to wait until he wraps his other Warner flick, "Inception," set for July 2010.
Nolan did direct 2006's "The Prestige," which was released in-between his two "Batman" films.
Oldman stars with Denzel Washington in "The Book of Eli," set to open in Jan. 2010.
