Dre, Eminem, 50 Cent sign new artist
The conglomerate that is Dr. Dre, Eminem, and 50 Cent added a member, when the three hip-hop heavyweights all co-signed South Central rapper Slim Da Mobster, an MTV story reports.
Super-producer Dre will feature Da Mobster on his long awaited third album, "Detox." Dre lifted Snoop Dogg's career on his first solo release, "The Chronic," and signed little known rapper Eminem, around his release of 2001, helping the Detroit rapper rise to hip-hop stardom. Eminem then went on to discover 50 Cent.
The three have now put their support fully behind Da Mobster, inking him to a deal through their G-Unit/Shady/Aftermath imprints.
The first thing on the young MC's plate is putting a lasting impression on "Detox."
"I'm not even focused on my album right now," Slim told MTV in Los Angeles. "I'm all about his album. 'Cause the better I do on that, the better it is for the situation with my album."
Slim's music is featured on 50's ThisIs50.com.
