Comic-Com '09 keeps fans hyped

The things that make my head spin with excitement.

Comic-Con is good for a lot of things. It provides an outlet for Jedi master wannabe's to fulfill their dreams, previews for state of the art video games, and a chance for fanboys and girls across the world to meet their favorite stars. But my favorite part of the Comic-Con weekend can be summarized in one word — hype.

Being away from San Diego is never a problem. G4 had extended coverage for all four days, and constant Web updates on sites like Marvel keep it easy to track the panels. And I track them to go hype crazy.

While "New Moon" isn't high on the anticipation list, there are a handful of coming attractions that make me giddy.

When Jon Favreau and the "Iron Man 2" cast unveil new photos and tidbits, it gets me giddy to see the sequel, which adds Don Cheadle, Mickey Rourke, and Scarlett Johansen to its already star-studded cast.

Reading about the "Lost" panel, and how producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse discuss the final season, makes my imagination run wild, and my patience run thin. The producers talked of character returns, new storytelling methods, and a throwback to the first season."Lost" returns in early 2010.

Perhaps most hype-worthy though is Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland," starring Johnny Depp. The trailer was released this weekend and looks absolutely spellbinding. With Depp as the Mad Hatter and a March 2010 release, "Alice" is sure to be a delight. But until then, I'll keep my eye on the hype pipeline, and eat up whatever online releases come along the way.
