$70 Movie to Hit Theaters
Low-cost movies such as "The Blair Witch Project" can become successful in an industry with high expectations and pricey budgets. An independent zombie film could soon follow in the same footsteps.
CNN reports that "Colin," a zombie movie that only cost $70 to produce, will be released in the UK on the big screen theaters. The movie will be shown close to Halloween in order to draw-in larger crowds.
Director Marc Price wrote the screenplay, directed, filmed and edited the movie during nights while he worked at a taxi company. Price found zombies for the movie by creating Facebook advertisements for volunteers.
The money Price spent on the movie went to a few pieces of camera equipment, a prop and coffee and tea for the crew members.
Price, a 30-year-old new director, plans to include a how-to instructional feature on the movie's DVD so young aspiring directors can learn from his success.
