Amanda Crew Is Zac Efron's New Leading Lady
Amanda Crew has signed on to star with Zac Efron in Universal's "Charlie St. Cloud."
The film is being directed by Burr Steers and produced by Marc Platt. Steers was responsible for the re-write of the screenplay's most recent copy by Lewis Colick.
"Charlie St. Cloud" is an adaptation of the Ben Sherwood novel, and is about a cemetery caretaker (Efron) who meets weekly with his younger brother, who he blames himself for his accidental death. While working he meets a woman (Crew) who is believed to be missing in a sailing accident. The two begin a romantic relationship but the cemetery caretaker soon questions what their relationship means.
Crew, 23, is represented by IFA Talent Agency and Play Management. She is best known for her roles in "Sex Drive" and "The Haunting in Connecticut."
"Charlie St. Cloud" will show in theaters in 2010.
