Stones, Winehouse On Upcoming Climate Change Benefit CD
An upcoming CD for Artists Project Earth, a UK climate change charity, will feature big names in music like The Rolling Stones and Amy Winehouse.
According to its website, APE uses music and the arts to tackle "21st century challenges." It raises money for natural disaster relief, and supports projects and awareness to combat climate change.
The CD, which is by Cuban musical group Rhythms del Mundo, is being produced by Kenny Young, the founder of APE. According to APE's Web site, the CD combines Afro-Cubano rhythms with "some of the most memorable songs of the last 40 years." It will be available in stores via Decca on Aug. 11.
In addition to The Rolling Stones and Amy Winehouse, Pastemagazine.com reported that the 19-track "Classics" will also feature Kaiser Chiefs, Fall Out Boy, KT Tunstall, Jack Johnson, One Republic, The Kooks, Augusto Enriquez, Editors, Keane. Eros Ramazzotti and The Zutons.
