Ugly Betty Gets A Makeover
Television's favorite and perfectly imperfect young magazine mogul, Betty Suarez, is due for a makeover, reports Entertainment Weekly.
Season four of ABC's "Ugly Betty" brings a lot of changes for Betty (played by America Ferrera), who is finally transitioning from a beck-and-call assistant to the associate features editor at Mode Magazine after four years of grabbing coffee and dry cleaning, while simultaneously stabilizing the ego of her boss and moving mountains to avert crises.
Betty's normally frumpy, but sometimes painfully colorful ensembles are being called into question for the new season. The show's producers aren't jumping blindly into a new look for its heroine either. Test groups are being asked to weigh in by viewing two new episodes from the upcoming season, which starts Oct. 9 on ABC, and airing their opinions.
One of the episodes shows Betty wearing a pink pastel suit reminiscent of Chanel, and the other a fairly conservative by Betty's standards short-sleeved black dress with a ruffled v-neck. Both outfits are a far cry from the bright orange "Guadalajara" poncho she sported during season one, but it's not clear yet how the changes will really affect the audience's perception of Betty.
