You Know What Really "Grinds My Gears"?

You know what really grinds my gears?

I decided to take another page from "Family Guy's" Peter Griffin because there are a lot of things that truly "grind my gears." I usually do not let things bother me but I observe things that are equivalent to nails on a chalkboard such as:

Women who wear leggings as pants: I never understood this fashion statement for various reasons. For one thing, if leggings were supposed to be worn as pants, wouldn't the designer have just made them into pants? Although women wearing leggings as pants, "grinds my gears," what truly "grinds my gears" is when women wear leggings as pants and their underwear can be seen through the leggings. There is a quick fix solution for that: It's called putting on a skirt or a pair of pants or even wearing underwear that cannot be seen through the leggings. I am positive that in some fashion magazine out there, one of the don'ts is to not have your underwear show when you wear your clothes.

When journalists do not check their sources: This issue is one that truly grinds my gears because a journalist's number one rule is to "always have a credible source." On Friday evening, hip-hop artist Kanye West was very upset when he heard on the radio that radio host Wendy Williams said, "West declared himself the next king of pop." Scrape.tv is the Web site that posted this rumor but other forms of media became aware of this rumor and decided to write all about it. This is a problem because it is incidents like these that make journalists seem like the bad guy. Many should know (if you do not already) that Scrape.tv is a satirical Web site, not a credible news outlet (not like CNN or the Associated Press). For once, Kanye West was not wrong and I do not blame him for being upset. Journalists need to do a better job of telling the story by making sure our facts are indeed true.

Legally Blondes 3: They actually had the guts to make another "Legally Blonde," but this time it was double the blond and triple the horror. "Legally Blonde," with Reese Witherspoon, (and also the musical) was excellent. However, the sequel to "Legally Blonde" and then this movie were lackluster. It grinds my gears that "Legally Blondes was even an idea. The plot for "Legally Blondes" was alright for a tween to watch, but those who fell in love with Reese Witherspoon in the first movie may want to change the channel after five minutes of trying to swallow two teen twins taking a stand because there's no pink in their school uniform.

And that is what grinds my gears.
