Classic British actor and 1971 Oscar winner for his role in "Ryan's Daughter," Sir John Mills, has died at the age of 97 after a short illness. Mills enjoyed a movie and theatrical career that spanned more than 60 years and starred in more than 100 films among which included David Lean films "In Which We Serve," "This Happy Breed," and "Hobson's Choice." He will be remembered most for films such as "Ice Cold in Alex," and "Above Us the Waves," films the British consider patriotic. He was knighted in 1976.
