Judge Delays Brown's Sentencing
Singer Chris Brown's punishment for assaulting his former girlfriend and Rihanna will not be decided until Aug. 27, reports BBC News. Judge Patricia Schnegg is waiting for Virginia officials to tell her whether Brown can do community labor there.
Brown will be serving five year's probation in his home state of Virginia. According to NME.com, Judge Schnegg wants to make sure he has to do physical, unglamorous work like picking up trash on the side of the road and removing graffiti, rather than normal community service.
According to the L. A. Times, Brown was at the hearing with his mother but didn't say anything while he was there.
Brown already plead guilty to the assault charges and received probation in a plea deal, which includes mandatory community service. He has also been ordered to stay 50 yards away from pop singer Rihanna at all times during the five years of his probation.
