Aerosmith's Tyler Suffers from Stage Fall

Steven Tyler fell off a stage and sustained head, neck and shoulder injuries.

Steven Tyler, Aerosmith's lead singer, fell off a stage in South Dakota that earned him a trip to an emergency room.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Tyler slipped and fell on some fans at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota on Wednesday. He was entertaining the crowd when the sound system stopped working during his performance for "Love in an Elevator." He reportedly sustained head, neck and shoulder injuries.

BBC News reports that Tyler was "good natured about it" and "joking with the physician," Mike Sanborn of the event's host, Buffalo Chip Campground, said. Soon after Tyler's fall, guitarist Joe Perry told the audience that the rest of the show was cancelled. Later, Tyler's daughter, Mia Tyler, said her father is doing fine.

So far this year, all members of Aerosmith except drummer Joey Kramer have been injured, MTV.com reports.

A few weeks before the stage fall, Tyler also sustained an unidentified on-stage injury, while Perry needed surgery for a knee infection a few months earlier. Bassist Tom Hamilton had "non-invasive" surgery, and guitarist Brad Whitford sustained a head injury that needed surgery.
