Mays's Autopsy Reveals Cocaine Use

Mays's family is surprised and saddened to discover that Mays's autopsy revealed cocaine.

Billy Mays's wife and friends are shocked at the autopsy results released on Friday that showed cocaine, prescription painkillers and anti-anxiety medicine in the former infomercial star's system. While heart disease was decided as the official cause of death, the autopsy stated that cocaine use caused or contributed to the development of the disease.

"Speculative…and unnecessary" was the family's reaction to the autopsy report. Mays's wife claims she didn't know about any of her husband's drug use other than pills that he took for a hip problem. Her explanation of Mays's condition was the Oxyclean pitchman suffered from hypertension caused by his travel and stressful life.

AJ Khubani, Mays's friend and CEO of Telebrands, was just as surprised as Mays's wife.

"I'm just shocked," he told The New York Daily News. "He was the model of a responsible citizen."
