Tom Brady Says He'll Play in Thursday's Preseason Game

After missing out in 2008, the quarterback said he's ready to play again.

Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady said that he thinks he will be ready to play the Eagles in the Thursday evening preseason game.

"I'm expecting to play," he said in press conference Tuesday morning according to the Boston Herald. "There's no reason why I wouldn't. I've been out doing everything. It will be nice to get out there and play some football."

Brady missed 2008 because he had torn knee ligaments. Prior to that, the quarterback had missed all four exhibition games because of a foot injury. He later said that had he played in the preseason games, he probably wouldn't have gotten the knee injury.

Owner Robert Kraft said that he thinks Brady will play in the game Thursday. Coach Bill Belichick said that he would do the best thing for his team.

"I'm ready," Brady said according to the Boston Globe. "I think everybody is ready."

What does the quarterback have to say about the opposing team on Thursday?

"It will be nice for us to get out there and play the Eagles. They really gave it to us last year, so hopefully we perform better."
