Guitar Hero Deal: Buy One, Get One Free

Those who love Guitar Hero and Van Halen won't want to miss this.

Guitar Hero 5 is set for release on Sept. 1, and Activision has added a nice little incentive for buying yet another Guitar Hero game. According to Escapist Magazine, anyone who pre-orders the game or buys specially-marked copies after its release will get a coupon for a free copy of "Guitar Hero: Van Halen."

This could be a smart move for the game's developers who fear that it won't sell as well as the previous games of the franchise, especially in the wake of their rival's new game, "The Beatles: Rock Band."

Another nice thing about this offer is that if you send in the coupon soon enough, you'll get "Van Halen" before its release date on Dec. 22, writes IGN.

The latest Guitar Hero game will include some interesting new features. Daniel Terdiman of CNET News was told by two of the lead developers of the game that it will have a "Party Play" mode that allows players to jump in and out of songs any time they want. This is expected to be convenient for new players.

Another new feature is the ability for four players to play any instrument that they want during a song instead of being limited to two guitar players, one drummer, and one singer.
