Scrubs Actress Sarah Chalke Expecting First Child

Chalke and fiance will have a baby this winter.

Sarah Chalke, the actress who plays Dr. Elliot Reid on the hit comedy show "Scrubs," has just confirmed that she's pregnant, and is due this winter, reports People.

The father is her fiancee Jamie Afifi, an entertainment lawyer who proposed to Chalke in December of 2006. The couple met through mutual friends on a ski trip.

This will be the first child for both Afifi and Chalke.

Although the wedding date was not stated, Access Hollywood writes that Chalke was shopping for wedding dresses back in May.

Chalke is still expected to appear now and then on the new version of "Scrubs" set to air on ABC. She will no longer be a regular, but many of the favorites, including Dr. Cox and Dr. Turk will remain full-time players. J. D., played by Zach Braff, will appear in six to eight episodes in season nine.

According to E! Online, Chalke's costar Judy Reyes, who plays Carla, is also pregnant and due in November.
