Michael Jackson's Doctor To Be Charged With Manslaughter
Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson's doctor, will be charged with manslaughter.
Investigators are postponing the arrest, hoping to find more evidence to convict Murray. Originally, investigators hoped to bring Murray in for steeper charges than manslaughter, but without a motive the jury would not be able to convict. Unless more substantial evidence is found they will have to go with manslaughter.
Murray admitted to giving Jackson Propofol (to aid in sleep) via IV drip. This strong anesthetic was administered to the singer before his death, which was thought to play a part in his death.
Murray posted a Youtube video on Tuesday, thanking his supporters.
In addition to Murray, Dr. Arnold Klein will also be prosecuted. Klein reportedly prescribed the drug Demerol, a painkiller. The drug is thought to have also contributed to the singer's death.
Jackson is scheduled to be buried on Aug. 29, which would have been his 51st birthday.
