Chris Brown sentenced to five years probation

Chris Brown sentenced to five years' probation and 180 days of community labor after pleading guilty of felony assault. In addition to the probation and community service, he will also be sent through a 52-week domestic violence program. Part of Brown's probation stipulates that he must not be within 100 yards of singer Rihanna at anytime, or within 10 yards at entertainment events. The judge also imposed a protective order, in which Brown is not to contact her while he is on probation.

According to People.com Rihanna and Brown allegedly had prior violent episodes before the February fight. The first happened three months prior to the February fight. This first episode happened in Europe. After a verbal dispute, Rihanna slapped Brown first, and then Brown retaliated by shoving her into the wall.

The second episode happened roughly three weeks before the February one. Brown and Rihanna were in Barbados, traveling in a borrowed Range Rover. An argument broke loose between the couple in the car, after which Brown stopped the car and broke both front windows of the car. No one was injured during this episode.

Rihanna, reportedly, did not object to Brown's sentence, although she did not wish to impose the protective order on him.
