Kris Allen and Adam Lambert’s debut albums will both be released on November 17.
“American Idol” rivals Kris Allen and Adam Lambert will be competing yet again for record sales.
Allen and Lambert’s debut albums will both be released on November 17.
Allen made the announcement via Twitter on Thursday night, and Lambert’s record company had previously announced the release date for Lambert’s album.
Both singers are recording and promoting their upcoming albums while traveling on the “American Idol” tour.
Allen is talking up the album and assured fans that his music “will definitely have that pop rock thing.”
Allen’s debut album will feature guitarist Joe King of The Fray and include songs written by Toby Gad, who has written songs for Fergie, Beyoncé, and Jordin Sparks.
Lambert is similarly promoting his album and says that his debut album will be “quite eclectic.”
During an interview with People magazine this week, Lambert promised a variety of music styles, saying, “There are songs on there that are anthems; there are songs that make you want to dance; there are songs that touch you, hopefully, with more emotional, insightful, deeper lyrics. There are songs that are more in line with a rock sound. There are some that are really pop-oriented.”
Allen was famous on the show for his soulful take on Bill Withers’s “Ain’t No Sunshine,” while Lambert was known for his theatrical performance of Muse’s “Feeling Good” and his stunning performance of Tears for Fears’ “Mad World.”
