Vanessa Williams Hosts Struggling Daytime Emmys
The Daytime Emmys will feature singing, dancing, and other tricks to save their shrinking audience.
The awards show has decreased in popularity, and for the first time this year, the ceremony will be broadcast on the CW instead of ABC or CBS.
At its height, the 1991 ceremony had nearly 19 million viewers, but last year's broadcast only garnered 5.38 million viewers
"Ugly Betty's" Vanessa Williams will be hosting the event, and she will perform at least two big musical numbers, including one with "Dancing With the Stars'" Gilles Marini.
Williams is familiar with live musical theater having played the Witch in the 2002 revival of "Into the Woods," and she says that her goal on Sunday night is simple.
"I just want to make it through without any glitches and give the people a good show."
