“Mad Men’s” Elisabeth Moss Garners First Emmy Nomination
30-Aug-2009
Written by: Rachel Kolb

Elisabeth Moss has earned her first Emmy nomination for her role as Peggy Olson on the AMC hit show, “Mad Men.”

Jon Hamm might be the face of “Mad Men,” but Elisabeth Moss has become the show’s heart.

Moss has been nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Peggy Olson, a woman trying to find her place in a male-dominated ad agency.

“Mad Men” received 16 Emmy nominations in 2008, winning in six categories, and the show received 10 nominations this year.

Moss previously played Zoey Bartlet on the popular series, “The West Wing,” and had guest starring roles on “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.”

This year will be Moss’s first Emmy nomination.

Moss received rave reviews earlier this year for her role in David Mamet’s new play, “Speed-the-Plow.”
