Preeti Mistry Gets Eliminated from "Top Chef"

Poor Preeti Mistry, 32, Executive Chef Bon Appetit Management, is no longer sitting pretty after making a bland pasta salad.

It seems as though "Top Chef" is not in favor of the girls this season. Last week, it was Eve who was sent home and now Preeti Mistry was told to pack her knives and go, on the newest episode that premiered Sept. 2.

This week contestants had to cook for 300 airmen and their families in the Thunderbird Air Force challenge. Before they headed off to the hanger, they had to complete a preliminary challenge in order to earn immunity, of course.

Executive Chef Mark Peel, former contestant of "Top Chef Masters," was the special guest judge of the evening. The preliminary challenge involved cooking with potatoes in about 45 minute's time. Mistry stirred up some drama during this challenge as she accidently used Ashley Merriman's boiling water forcing her to make another pot.

Jennifer Carroll, 34, Chef De Cuisine at 10 Arts, won the immunity challenge with her mussels in potato sauce.

For the Thunderbird Air Force challenge, judges assigned all the chefs to work as one team; however, the chefs decided to work in 7 groups of 2 which proved deadly for some. Carroll was named executive chef of the project because of her immunity in the challenge. The chefs had a tough task as they had only Air Force food and supplies to work with, which means a lot of canned food and no burners!

In the end, it was Mike Voltaggio with his slab of bacon turned pork belly taco that won over the judges' taste buds. In a surprising turn of events, Voltaggio's partner, Michael Isabella, 34, Executive Chef, Zaytinya, was both part of the best of and worst of groups as the judges loved the pork belly tacos but hated his undercooked and bland shrimp salad.

But as we all know, Preeti Mistry had to go after she gave the judges a bland and unoriginal pasta salad.

Hey, just a tip for all you "Top Chef" contestants out there- Don't make salad!
