Another Pressing of "The Beatles in Mono" on the Way
After online pre-orders consumed most of the initial pressing of EMI Music's limited edition "The Beatles in Mono" box set, the label has decided to produce more copies.
Variety reports that the 13-CD, remastered box set was supposed to be limited to 10,000 copies, but more are on their way do to the huge demand. However, unlike the stereo remasters which will be sold individually as well as in a set, the mono versions will only be available sold together to the tune of $299.
A small number of copies of the mono box set will be available at physical outlets on the release date of Sept.9.
It's unknown how many more copies will be produced.
Web retailer Amazon.com said: "The manufacturer has informed us that they will be producing additional mono box sets due to high demand. While the mono box set will still remain a limited production item, it will no longer be limited to 10,000 copies for the U.S. market, as originally reported."
