Charlie Watts says he is not planning on quitting the Rolling Stones

After rumors seeped onto an Australian Web site about Charlie Watts leaving the band, he's had to set the record straight.

Charlie Watts, drummer for the Rolling Stones, says he is not quitting the band. A spokeswoman for the entertainer, Fran Curtis, told ABC News, "Contrary to a fabricated story that ran this morning on a small music web site in Australia, drummer Charlie Watts has not left The Rolling Stones."

The band has not released an album since 2005's "A Bigger Bang" which didn't do so well in sales. Also, their last tour took place in August of 2007.

Rumors had been circulating that Watts would be replaced with Charlie Drayton, who has collaborated with Keith Richards on solo projects.

Watts seems to keep more to himself and to be taking it easy. Even though he was diagnosed with throat cancer five years ago, it didn't stop the drummer. He and the band went on a "three-year world tour the following year." Despite the stories, Watts stays involved by looking after the band's merchandising and set design for the band.
