The Jay Leno Show set to debut September 14
Jay Leno is set to return to TV September 14, as host for his new show, "The Jay Leno Show." Leno says he is not worried about whether his new show will succeed or not. The show is a way of keeping Leno on the network, while still keeping their promise to Conan O'Brien. O'Brien was promised "The Tonight Show" in 2004, assuming Leno would retire in 2009, after 17 years as the host. But as the date approached, Leno said he might switch networks, thus "The Jay Leno Show" is a way of keeping both talk show hosts on the network.
"The Jay Leno Show" will air five nights a week at 10 o'clock. This takes up 5 hours of prime-time programming; shows such as "ER" and "Law & Order" have been successful at these times. Not only that, but NBC, in an interview with Time, said "it's committed to airing 'The Jay Leno Show' five nights a week for at least two years, good ratings or bad."
