Dancing with the Stars' Cutest Couple Calls It Quits
Maksim Chmerkovskiy may be performing the "one man tango" after he and Karina Smirnoff called off their wedding engagement.
The light-footed lovers have called off their highly anticipated wedding after telling the world how much they can't be away from each other a month ago.
"I am confirming that they did indeed break up," Smirnoff's rep tells E! Online.
Smirnoff, 31, and Chmerkovskiy, 28, have been engaged to be married since Dec. The wedding was originally set to be in June but was delayed due to their busy schedules on Broadway. The delay may have revealed some stress in the relationship already.
"The only thing we've decided is next year in June," Smirnoff told People back in July. "We were going to pick the place, but we never actually had the time. [But being on Broadway] is amazing and we love doing it, so we don't feel like we're missing out on the wedding dress fittings."
The couple does plan on keeping with their schedules and are in fact still going to dance together at the Emmys award show. They have already requested to have separate dressing rooms however. The Emmys will air Sept.20.
