Nicole Richie and Joel Madden Twitter About New Son

Proud parents Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have been Tweeting about their son as soon as he was born. Sparrow James Midnight Madden, born early Wednesday morning, is already creating a lot of online buzz.

"1st day of his life & my son is already a trending topic on twitter. That's right son, ur just like your old man," Madden wrote on his account.

Richie also added something to her blog the night her son was born. "What a great day to come back on Twitter," she wrote. "Thank you everyone for your well wishes. I love my family!!"

Richie and Madden also received well wishes from their celebrity friends via Twitter after the big news.

"We're very, very blessed," Madden had told People Magazine on August 6 of the approaching birth of their son. "We've already had one healthy kid, and that's all you can ask for as a parent - healthy kids."

The couple is delighted about this newest addition to their family, younger brother to Harlow Winter Kate Madden, who was born in January 2008.
