Organizers of Jackson's Tribute Concert Delay Event Until 2010

The concert that was to be held to memorialize Michael Jackson has been canceled and rescheduled for June 2010 in London.

The New York Times is reporting that organizers for the Michael Jackson tribute concert have announced that the highly anticipated event has been canceled and pushed back until June of 2010. The concert, which was to be held in Vienna's world renowned Schönbrunn Palace, will also experience a venue change as its organizers are scheduling the event in London.

Those who have purchased tickets for the originally scheduled concert in Vienna will receive full refunds and tickets will now go on sale for the rescheduled concert, which will be held in London's Wembley Stadium to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Jackson's tragic passing.

Concert promoter Georg Kindel and Jackson's brother Jermaine spoke out earlier this week about the concert's tentatively scheduled list of performers, which included Mary J. Blige and Chris Brown who were rumored to have schedule conflicts that could potentially keep them from attending.

Blige was rumored to be attending a prominent fashion event in Italy on September 26th, which was the same day that Jackson's tribute concert was scheduled to occur. Brown would have needed a judge's permission to the leave the country since he is currently on probation and the concert was going to be held outside of the United States.
