Jay-Z held a concert in Madison Square Garden for Sept.11
Jay-Z held an "Answer the Call" concert in New York's Madison Square Garden to pay tribute to the New York City Police Officers and Firefighters who died in response of the September 11 terrorist attack.
The families that where affected by the attack will receive the donated funds that were made from the "Answer the Call" concert.
Some of the biggest stars in Hollywood, including Beyonce, Mary J. Blige and Rihanna, joined Jay-Z to mark the eight year anniversary.
"We stand here tonight eight years later even stronger, even stronger," Jay-Z said on stage. "This is our own. We run this town New York City!"
Jay performed 30 songs from 11 albums during the two-hour set. It was aired on Fuse TV.
John Mayer rocked out on the electric guitar on "Dirt off Your Shoulder," and Mary J. Blige added a soul twist to "Can't Knock the Hustle." Rihanna performed for the first time since her incident with Chris Brown back in February. She performed the new hit song, "Run This Town," with Jay and Kanye West.
Half way through the concert, Jay had a moment of silence to remember those who lost their life in the terror attack. During the silence, Jay had head shots of the fallen appear on a backdrop of buildings while Jay-Z's "Young Forever" played in the background.
"Make some noise for everybody that lost their lives so we can live ours," Jay-Z said.
