Obama Administration Trade Policies May Jeopardize 585,800 Jobs
Reuters is reporting a staggering statistic that has been released from a study that was conducted by the United States Chamber of Commerce. The study indicates that various trade policies that have been pursued by the Obama administration since the start of 2009 may potentially lead to the loss of 585,500 jobs in the United States.
Congress' failure to approve of free trade agreements in South Korea as well as Columbia directly led to a loss of 383,400 American jobs, according to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's study. Those 383,400 jobs account for nearly two-thirds of the 585,500 jobs that have been lost over the past nine months.
The study, which was set up by a reputable economic consulting firm known as Trade Partnership Worldwide, shows that the "Buy American" provisions that were included in our nation's economic stimulus bill from the Obama administration was another underlying factor behind the enormous amount of job losses in the United States throughout the year.
Other countries may potentially retaliate to the administration's "Buy American" economic provisions, which would have an even more significant impact on job losses in our country. If worldwide retaliation escalates in the coming months, Reuters is reporting that job losses will continue to increase at a monumental rate.
