President Obama to Appear on Letterman Next Monday
President Barack Obama's elaborate media tour is slated to become incredibly hectic in the immediate future. The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times are reporting that Obama is scheduled to appear on five political television shows on Sunday and he will follow those appearances up by being the lone guest on Monday night's "The Late Show with David Letterman."
The five shows that Obama is scheduled to appear on Sunday night prior to his appearance on Letterman's "Late Show" include ABC's "This Week," CBS's "Face the Nation," CNN's "State of the Union," NBC's "Meet the Press" as well as an interview with Univision, according to The Los Angeles Times.
This media tour is reportedly being conducted by President Obama in an attempt to generate additional support for his proposed health care reform. His appearance will be a historical moment for "The Late Show" since it will mark the first time ever in the show's history that a current U.S. president will serve as a guest on the program.
The CBS Network confirmed President Obama's upcoming appearance on "The Late Show with David Letterman" with a press release that stated, "President Obama's appearance [on Monday September 21] will mark the first by a sitting U.S. President on the 'Late Show' and his first visit back to the show since his election."
