New Moon Soundtrack: Big Names and Big Numbers

The highly anticipated soundtrack to "New Moon" will be released a month prior to the movie, with rumored big names like Thom Yorke and Muse (Death Cab confirmed).

Twilight fans will have something to look forward to prior to the Nov. 20 release of the next installment, "New Moon." The movie's soundtrack, released by the Atlantic/Chop Shop label, is already rumored to have some of the biggest names in the music business, including Thom Yorke of Radiohead, Bon Iver, Band of Skulls and Muse. Death Cab for Cutie is confirmed after performing one of their songs from the soundtrack at the MTV Video Music Awards this past Sunday. Fans can expect a more somber, dissonant tone to this soundtrack, reflecting the story of "New Moon," which has its fair share of loss and remorse. The new soundtrack will be out Oct. 20 and will be released to listening parties in Hot Topic stores that may include some of the contributing artists. The "Twilight" soundtrack sold 165,000 copies in its first week, a good omen for musicians on "New Moon."
