In June 2009, Chris Brown pled guilty to felony assault. He was accused of beating, choking and threatening to kill ex-girlfriend Rihanna after they left a pre-Grammy Awards party in Los Angeles back in February 2009.

According to MTV.com, Judge Patricia Schnegg sentenced Chris Brown to 180 days of community labor service and she ordered him to undergo weekly counseling for one year at the Commonwealth Catholic Charities in Virginia. He is also forbidden from being in contact with Rihanna due to the protective order. And, he will remain under probation supervision for the next five years.

On Wednesday, Sept. 16, Brown began his community labor service sentence at a Virginia police-horse stable. The Associated Press reports that additional officers were required onsite to provide extra protection for the R&B singer during his first days of work. He attracted some fans and television crews, who had the chance to see Brown sporting the official orange vest instead of his usual fashionable attire.

Cleaning the police-horse stable is not the only physical labor Chris Brown will perform. Richmond Police Chief Bryan Norwood reported to Judge Schnegg that Brown may also remove graffiti, pick up trash, wash cars and maintain grounds to satisfy his sentence.
