Ryan Seacrest's Crazed Fan Gets Jail Time
E! Online reports "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest was approached by eager fan, Chidi Uzomah, outside of Children's Hospital of Orange County on Tuesday, Sept. 15. Seacrest had just finished an appearance at the hospital, and Uzoma wanted Seacrest's autograph. After receiving the autograph, the fan proceeded to follow Seacrest to his car. When the fan was met with opposition from a security guard, he allegedly started fighting the guard. The fan was also accused of choking the guard. The police later restrained Uzomah, and found a concealed switchblade.
According to the Associated Press's update, Chidi Uzomah appeared in Orange County Superior Court on Friday, Sept. 18. He pled guilty to misdemeanor assault and battery, and possession of a switchblade. Uzomah was sentenced to 15 days in jail and three years probation. He must also pay restitution. If Uzomah fails to comply, he could face six months in jail or a $1,000 fine.
