Farrah Fawcett's Son Gets Rehab Instead of Jail
Redmond O'Neal, son of the late Farrah Fawcett, has been ordered to spend a year in rehab after he pled no contest Friday to bringing drugs to a Los Angeles jail.
According to The Associated Press, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced that O'Neal will be released from jail and transferred to a residential drug treatment facility after spending the past few months behind bars. He was released for a few hours in June to attend his mother's funeral.
O'Neal was on bail for another drug-related offence when he was arrested for possessing heroin, Reuters reports. He was visiting the Pitchess Detention Center with a friend at the time, and the drugs were found in his car by police officers. O'Neal admitted that the drugs were his.
The young man received rehab as part of a plea deal. People writes that should he fail to complete the year-long program or violate his three-year probation, he could face up to six years in prison.
