Katherine Jackson's $86,000 Monthly Allowance
According to CNN.com, court documents released Thursday, Sept. 17, report Michael Jackson's estate will provide a monthly allowance of more than $86,000 to Katherine Jackson and his three children. The documents further detail that $26,804 is allotted for her living expenses, clothing purchases and entertainment in addition to a personal assistant, housekeeper and driver. An additional $60,000 is for the children. $14,600 of the children's allowance is for the salaries and payroll taxes of the people who take care of them, and $13,260 is for the children's entertainment. However, some details of the children's allowance were not made public due to their lawyer's request to protect their privacy.
The court approved Katherine Jackson's monthly allowance, because it could potentially take a few years to settle Michael Jackson's affairs, including the funding for the family trust to support his mother and his three children. Fortunately, Katherine Jackson will not have to use the allowance to pay for the Encino family home's mortgage, gardeners, insurance and taxes, according to the Los Angeles Times.
