Pretty Boy Back in Action

Floyd Mayweather toys with Marquez

After a 21 month boxing absence, "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather Jr., returned to his art and gained a lop sided victory over Juan Manual Marquez.

Mayweather, the bigger boxer, out powered and out classed Marquez for 12 long rounds on his way to a unanimous decision Saturday night.

At some points in the fight, "Pretty Boy" seemed to toy with Marquez, Mayweather said," Marquez is tough as nails. He's a great little man. He was really hard to fight, and he kept taking some unbelievable shots".

At the weigh in two days prior, Mayweather missed the 144 pound limit. He was forced to compensate a $600,000 fine for missing weight. Marquez now 50-5-1 moved up two weight classes to take this fight and from the opening bell the weight differential was infinite.

Mayweather, who knocked Marquez down in the second round refused to re-weigh before the fight so his exact advantage is unknown.

"He surprised me with the first knockdown. I don't want to make any excuses, but the weight was the problem", Marquez added.

Mayweather may now face who many view as the top fighter today, Manny Pacquio. It would be the most appealing draw in the sport, but Sugar Shane Mosely called out Mayweather immediately after the fight. The two had to be separated by security.

Pacquio fights Miguel Cotto in two months and with a win, he will most likely look to face Mayweather.
