Legal Action Taken Against Brady and Bundchen
Based on the past few days, it would be safe to say that Tom Brady is not having a very good week. On Sunday a rookie quarterback outplayed him in the Patriots vs. Jets game and this morning, Tuesday, September 22, a court suit was brought against him and his wife, Gisele Bundchen.
Yuri Cortez and Rolando Aviles, the two photographers who were allegedly shot at when they attempted to take pictures of Brady and Bundchen's wedding reception at the bride's home in Cosa Rica, are joining together with Agence France Presse to press charges of negligence and carelessness against the couple. The plaintiffs are seeking more than $1 million in damages, a sum that is meant to cover expenses such as medical care and treatment, nurses, physical therapy, and other costs that were acquired after the incident.
According to Cortez and Aviles, bodyguards at the ceremony fired shots that only narrowly missed their heads after the photographers refused to relinquish the film and cameras. However, Brady dismissed these claims in May when he told Sports Illustrated that the photographers' account of the event was "absolute total b.s." and that his "security guys didn't even have guns."
Neither Brady's agent nor Bundchen's publicist has commented on the lawsuit, but it seems that Brady will soon need a new kind of defense behind him.
