Mackenzie Phillips Reveals Shocking Secrets in Her New Book

Mackenzie Phillips, former child star and daughter of John Phillips from The Mamas and the Papas, has a book coming out Wednesday, discussing her complex relationship with her father.

Former childhood actress Mackenzie Phillips has a tell-all book coming out with some rather shocking details. Phillips starred in the 1970s TV sitcom, "One Day at a Time," which she was fired from in 1980 due to her extensive drug use. In her book, "High on Arrival," out Wednesday, Phillips talks about the troubled, drug-induced relationship with her father, musician John Phillips of The Mamas and the Papas.

Apparently, the father and daughter had a sexual relationship mostly resulting from horrible drug addiction. Ms. Phillips describes a particular instance in which her father wanted to stop her wedding to Jeff Sessler in 1979. She recalls waking up from a blackout and realizing her father was having sex with her. Phillips entered rehab with her father in 1980 and pursued a consensual relationship with him. Mackenzie Phillips is featured on Wednesday's episode of "Oprah" where she will no doubt divulge more details.
